As the jubilant circus organ melody begins, Dumbo gracefully lifts off and begins to fly ‘round a dancing water fountain. I was so excited and proud of them, they loved Dumbo. It was thrilling for me as it was all new, but what really meant the most to me is that I experienced it with my girls. Rumors say this second ring will turn the opposite direction! (Check out my Facebook photo album for a peek at construction pictures.) They are currently building a second section of Dumbo with an identical ring, scheduled to open in July 2012. I even noticed little peanut shells built into the sidewalks as we waited in line for the ride. The vibrant colors and attention to details were fantastic. Both Maggie and Molly were mesmerized watching Dumbo and I couldn’t get over the new water elements added to the ride. There wasn’t much of a crowd, so we hopped in line and I could hardly control my excitement. (And secretly… I was too!) The bright colors and beautiful scenery made it magical. I had seen pictures online from other’s experiences, but seeing it with my own eyes – just made it that much more exciting.Īs soon as Maggie saw the new Dumbo ride, she was shouting that she needed to ride it. The excitement was building as we made our way to the back of the park, with signs leading the way to the new area. We hadn’t visited the park since they opened part of the new Fantasyland area with the first of two Dumbo the Flying Elephant Rides. It is their goal that everyone who visits Walt Disney World has a magical trip with lots of memories to last a life time.Last weekend, while we were at Disney World, I was so anxious for us to get to the Magic Kingdom. And then they added a kids play area where families can hang out while waiting to ride, which has become so popular many children don’t want to leave there to actually ride when it’s their turn!ĭumbo is a ride that can hold up to 2 guests per “elephant” vehicle. That all changed when Disney added a second ride, which makes the lines move much faster. This can definitely add to the wait time as opposed to those attractions that are continuous load styles. Previously, one of the things that always concerned me about Dumbo was the never ending line in the queue due to this being a stop ‘n load – meaning that the ride must completely stop and all guests must exit before it can be loaded with the next group of guests. Not sure why I never rode it before, but on this particular trip we had our 5 year old granddaughter with us who was very excited to ride Dumbo, and as we both found out, it was a lot of fun! I rode this Magic Kingdom classic for the first time just a few years ago. ![]()
